You will be accountable for your colleagues’ success as a part-time IT mentor by assisting them in honing their technical interviewing techniques through a range of online workshops. Together with our career and IT mentors, you will collaborate across functional lines to deliver current, pertinent material that will assist our fellows succeed in interviews and build self-assurance!

We are now searching for mentors with expertise in information security who specialize in IT/Cybersecurity.

Requirements:

• Put five to ten hours of open time on your calendar.
• The opportunity to mold the aptitudes, perspectives, and career paths of the next wave of IT experts excites you.
• You are well-versed in the demands of IT positions in the tech sector today.
• You’ve worked in the IT, IT management, security analytics, or security administration fields for at least five years (previous teaching experience a plus).
• Preferably, prior startup experience
• Experience hiring preferred

Responsibilities:

• Mentor one person at a time on your own schedule.
• Conduct introductory meetings with exceptional individuals that appreciate your domain knowledge.
• Offer a consulting approach to comprehend the difficulties that our fellows are currently facing in their job search.
• A few hours a week will be required of mentors to prepare materials, make use of the Pathrise curriculum already in place, and answer emails from fellows.
• Learn how to better meet the needs and learning styles of your peers by working with Pathrise Mentors.
• Assist fellows with written assignments, mock behavioral interviews, resume reviews, case study and presentation preparation, and skill planning, among other technical and behavioral parts of the job hunt.
• Provide a considerate and welcoming atmosphere where all fellows can develop their technical knowledge and gain new skills to accomplish great things and land their dream jobs!
