Responsibilities:
- In order to arrive at a secure, accurate, and reliable judgment of competences for degree programs, the evaluators’ work is situational and extremely complicated, requiring study and review of student responses to assessment task prompts.
- In order to support students in gaining competency and advancing through their degree program, the evaluator uses team, department, and university regulations and procedures while assigning grades to assignments and creating insightful, thorough, and individualised feedback.
- An expert evaluator may occasionally be asked to develop and put into practice strategies to enhance student performance and assessment procedures.
- The work of the evaluators is essential to each student’s WGU experience and achievement.
- The assessor collaborates both individually and as a member of a team focused on a particular topic to satisfy departmental, team, and individual goals for being timely, helpful, fair, and accurate in a positive work environment.
- Evaluators must work efficiently and accurately to report work hours in order to be good stewards of the tuition money paid by students.
- The Evaluator may be asked to address questions or concerns raised by students.
- Evaluators are self-managed, exercising initiative and working autonomously to complete performance assessment evaluations in accordance with standard procedures and rules as well as our dedication to students (i.e., accurate, fair, helpful & quick), with broad guidance from a manager and course lead.
- In order to fairly determine a student’s competency when confronted with an unexpected reaction, evaluators are required and encouraged to work cooperatively with other evaluators, course leads, and supervisors or managers.
- Evaluators need to work well with others in their team, project teams, and any relevant cross-functional groups if they are to succeed.
- On new or unique assignments, an experienced evaluator might be required to suggest or work with others on innovative techniques and protocols.
Requirements:
Understanding and Proficiency
- Subject-matter competence and suitable advanced degree(s) or credentials related to the evaluation field
- Strongly desirable is work experience related to the evaluation content area.
- strong comprehension of, commitment to, and acceptance of the split faculty model and competency-based education
- superior proficiency in both oral and writing communication
- Capability to identify signs of proficiency in student work, including responses in unexpected ways
- Proven aptitude for using technology, quickly adjusting to novel procedures, and handling intricate cognitive loads
- Ability to work together with others to guarantee the validity and consistency of assessments conducted by a variety of raters, including yielding to team, course lead, supervisor, or management direction.
- Proven capacity to recognize and direct student submissions for further attention, including but not restricted to rewards for excellence, creativity, and professional communication (articulation), guidance in opening student submissions, content help, and technical support.
- Skills for addressing problems: Looks into relevant sources and, when necessary, enlists partners. forward-thinking. evaluates what will assist or obstruct reaching objectives. concentrates on what matters.

Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s or MBA degree in business, leadership, human resources, or a similar discipline.
- A minimum of three plus years of experience in human resources.
Desired Qualifications:
- HR Certification: It is highly recommended to hold one of the following HR-related credentials: SHRM (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) or HRCI (PHR/SPHR/PHRi/SPHRi/GPHR) certificates.
