JDRF is seeking a Global Community Engagement Leader to play a pivotal role in their global expansion and growth. This position will focus on developing strategies and content to empower individuals living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and move closer to a world without T1D. The role involves various responsibilities, including resource creation, relationship building, and impact measurement.

Responsibilities:

1. Resourcing the T1D Community:

  • Understand diverse T1D audiences and create resonating content.
  • Collaborate with community engagement, marketing, and global access teams.
  • Develop strategies and content for diverse populations, starting with the Spanish-speaking community.
  • Curate T1D education and community support programs and resources.
  • Craft event agendas, secure speakers, create and translate content, execute events, provide marketing insights, and analyze results.

2. Expanding Relationships:

  • Identify, build, and nurture direct connections with diabetes-related organizations, individuals, and healthcare professionals.
  • Establish relationships to secure resources and partnerships for T1D community support.
  • Focus on organizations that reach the Spanish-speaking community, with an eye on future expansion.
  • Contribute to the vision for JDRF’s expansion efforts.

3. Measuring Impact:

  • Define clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals for global community initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing analytics, strategy, and community engagement teams.
  • Demonstrate the success of these initiatives in conversations with partners and JDRF leadership.
  • Initial goals and KPIs focus on attracting Spanish speakers to JDRF and building retention and engagement across mission activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (marketing, communications, public health degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in crafting strategic communications plans.
  • Quick learner with the ability to grasp technical and scientific information.
  • Essential Spanish language translation skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience in diabetes is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a straightforward communication style.
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset with a self-starter approach.
  • Comfortable working remotely and across multiple time zones.
  • Limited travel may be required.
