Along with performing clerical work, the Credentialing Assistant’s responsibilities also include project assistance for the Credentialing Coordinators, Manager, and Director.

Responsibilities:

  • They are in charge of both incoming and outgoing mail. distributing, logging, or directing to the relevant department. This entails providing credentialing signature papers to newly onboarded physicians and forwarding them to the relevant coordinators upon their return.
  • Fax: They are in charge of the department’s fax program and must ensure that the right staff members receive or handle it.
  • Verifications of Demographics All demographic verifications from payers who contact via phone, fax, or email fall under their purview.
  • Medicare applications from the past and present should be scanned to do away with the necessity for file cabinets.
  • Medicaid applications from the past and present should be scanned to do away with the necessity for file cabinets.
  • Every quarter, the CMS revalidation website is reviewed to ensure that all of our groups and suppliers are up to date on their revalidations and that the spreadsheets are maintained. They will also have to remove terminated providers and add new ones.
  • Delivering the information to the team and regularly checking the department credentialing email inbox.
  • Daily voicemail checks on the department’s principal phone line and appropriate message routing
  • Manage and coordinate the yearly effort for COI renewal.
  • Finish cleaning up all scanned CV files for the annual CV file.
  • Placing department supply orders when necessary.
  • Must keep up the department’s office supplies.
  • Supporting the Director of Credentialing in provider terminations for Medicare.
  • Helping the credentialing coordinators during peak re-credentialing periods or with applications for sizable statewide projects.
  • Adding the provider’s effective date to Managed Care Monthly (MCM) Updates for all apps within their purview.
  • Letting Managed Care plans know about practice modifications, such adding or removing coordinators or locations.
  • Assembling state-specific folders containing the legal records required for Medicare applications
  • Additional responsibilities can be allocated as the managed care sector evolves.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must have at least two years of experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, or credentialing assistant/coordinator.
  • The hospital setting is advantageous.
  • You pay close attention to detail and data integrity, and you possess outstanding organizational skills.
  • You take pleasure in working together with people to finish projects.
  • operating in a forward-thinking, growing setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Access is required.
  • Needs to be able to communicate with people at various levels.
  • Needs to be able to manage several projects in a hectic setting.
  • Work on your own with little guidance.
