The Senior Software Development Engineer will be in charge of developing cutting-edge features for the native iOS and Android applications that support the customer-facing mobile platform for Delta and Virgin Atlantic. With a focus on reusability, dependability, and quality, the following team member in this field will collaborate with their team and matrix teams to define the technical solutions that produce resilient and automated systems and assure the defect-free delivery of our solutions. In order to create the finest customer experience in the market, this senior software development engineer will collaborate closely with the technical architects on the team and within the company, as well as with peers in IT and, even more so, the squad team members.
Requirements:
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM)
The following skills must be mastered:
- Java 8 and later, Typescript and NodeJS
- Creating and running serverless setups, microservices, and containers on AWS
- WSC DK
- Active-active AWS multi region serverless lambdas design for reliability
- AWS Kinetics, AWS Athena, and AWS Glue
- Observable Insights
- Development that is test-driven
- Setting up SLAs and SLOs for monitoring needs
- Building lambdas that handle PII and PCI data in a very secure manner
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems, or any other combination of training, education, and/or experience in the field of developing computer systems that is equivalent.
- Prior airline experience is not necessary but is advantageous.
- Communication skills include the capacity for effective formal and informal communication, the ability to talk and write in a way that is clear and understandable to the audience, and the capacity to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and management.
