Responsibilities:
- Follow established standards for accepting and tracking international and domestic passenger small claims complaints via the Outlook Calendar and QuickBase platforms.
- Learn about Delta’s Contract of Carriage and the policies that apply to passenger travel and refunds.
- Learn about and stay current on flight regulations and laws governing passenger travel in the United States and other countries (e.g., DOT regulations, Montreal Convention, EU261, APPR, etc.).
- Learn about the BSP and ARC document retrieval services for international and domestic ticket refunds.
- Collect pertinent passenger and flight information using Delta technology systems to aid in the defense of passenger small claims action.
- Collect documents from internal Delta business partners in order to investigate domestic and international passenger small claims concerns.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with other department managers and organizations in order to better simplify the acquisition of relevant papers and information.
- Develop, create, and maintain good working relationships with outside attorneys hired to defend Delta in passenger litigation around the world, as well as help them in defending and settling passenger lawsuit claims.
- Create invoices for legal settlements and/or judgements.
- Prepare and process check requests for payment of passenger claims.
- Look for ways to innovate and improve existing processes and procedures.
- Oversee and coach less experienced team members.
Requirements:
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE IN ORDER TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
- Paralegal certification, a university degree, or comparable experience are necessary.
- A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is preferred.
- Must maintain the greatest levels of discretion and confidentiality.

- Organized and detail-oriented, with a strong dedication to accuracy and follow-through.
- The ability to prioritize, manage, and multi-task swiftly and competently in a diversified, fast-paced working environment with minimum supervision.

- The ability to work with business partners both inside and outside the law department.
- The ability to supervise and coach more junior team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Is at least 18 years old and has the legal right to work in the United States.
WHAT WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Previous experience dealing with domestic small claims court or international authorities and counsel.
- Understanding of Delta systems such as Spils, PNR, DLTerm32, and OPS.
- Knowledge of two or more languages.
Salary range: 74400.00 – 167700.00
