A competent and driven Contract Attorney is needed by a San Francisco East Bay-based employment defense law company. You will be employed on a contract basis as a vital component of our legal team to manage a varied caseload and offer litigation support to the firm’s clients in various employment-related disputes. You will have the chance to work on difficult cases, support litigation, and help our company succeed as a contract-based professional.
This job is entirely remote and is full-time. The ideal lawyer will be admitted to the California Bar and have been practicing law for 1 to 5 years; although it is not necessary, prior employment litigation experience is preferable.
Responsibilities:
- Case management: Help manage a caseload of employment litigation cases by performing legal research, producing pleadings, motions, and other legal paperwork, as well as creating case strategies.
- Legal Research and Analysis: Perform thorough legal research and analysis on a range of employment law issues, keeping abreast of pertinent statutes, case law, and regulations. Give clients and internal stakeholders accurate and prompt legal advice.
- Discovery and Document Review: Participate in the management of document review and production, as well as the drafting and response to discovery requests. You can also assist in the supervision of discovery processes.
- Case planning and successful legal strategies are developed through collaboration with partners and senior attorneys. Comment on the settlement process and alternate conflict resolution techniques.
- Teamwork: To maintain excellent workflow and seamless provision of legal services, work successfully with lawyers, paralegals, and support staff.
Requirements:
- A J.D. degree and acceptance into the California State Bar.
- 1–5 years of experience working as a lawyer in private practice, with an emphasis on civil litigation. Although not necessary, prior employment legal experience is a benefit.
- It would be ideal if you had a thorough understanding of East Bay court procedures and regulations.
- Outstanding courtroom abilities, including writing and oral arguments. a track record of successfully assisting attorneys in managing all phases of litigation on their own.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to apply legal concepts to particular situations and help to the creation of winning legal strategies.
- Effective verbal and writing communication abilities with the capacity to explain difficult legal ideas.
- Extremely organized and meticulous, with the capacity to properly manage many deadlines and responsibilities.
- Cooperative team player with a track record of success in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
