Position Description

Young Storytellers is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and community impact. As a Senior Level Manager, the successful candidate will provide strategic vision and leadership to the organization, ensuring the successful execution of programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

– Develop a strategic vision that aligns with Young Storytellers’ mission, values, and goals
– Lead the day-to-day operations of the organization
– Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Board, donors, partners, volunteers, and community leaders
– Ensure data collection systems and resources are implemented to evaluate programs
– Drive fundraising and development efforts
– Build and manage a high-performing team of staff, volunteers, and contractors
– Act as a representative of Young Storytellers to external stakeholders, partners, and the Board of Directors
– Provide strategic leadership by bringing a unique perspective to the role
– Demonstrate a deep understanding of the organization’s history, vision, and values
– Embody and promote the values of Young Storytellers

Qualifications

– Progressive experience in a leadership role within the non-profit sector
– Passion and commitment to the mission and vision of Young Storytellers
– Experience with community-building and partnerships
– Proven ability to execute successful fundraising strategies
– Strong team management skills
– Exemplary ability to manage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels

Young Storytellers values creativity and a willingness to learn and grow in the Executive Director role, which includes providing the support and resources needed for the selected candidate to succeed.

In addition to a salary range between $130,000 – $140,000, the Executive Director position includes eligibility for an annual bonus, generous paid time off, a monthly health and dental insurance allowance, and a 401K matching contribution. The Young Storytellers team operates on a hybrid work schedule with two days at our DTLA office and three days remote each week.
