(Remote Position) in NEW YORK, NY A group of Contract Attorneys are needed to support our client, a multinational financial services organization with a sizable global presence that serves more than 70 million consumers worldwide, on an ongoing project or consultancy need. This institution must create a legal index of state laws and regulations as per a consent order for their consumer lending operation, with a deadline of the end of August.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate for this project will be a licensed attorney with in-house, risk and compliance/consumer lending experience. This person should be able to work from a draft of preliminary plain language summaries of the state laws and regulations that apply to consumer lending in order to perform quality assurance reviews on these summaries to make sure they are fully and adequately summarizing the law (your job would be to conduct the necessary research to verify the information,
Requirements:
- Risk, Compliance, and in-house experience.
- Demonstrated expertise with business review papers
- Knowledge of lending guidelines
- Understanding of law in command
- Basic understanding of consumer banking
- Thorough understanding of compliance risk
- Excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking
- Excellent academic records and references
- Must be capable of analysis, legal research, and writing.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic setting, prioritize customer needs, and adjust to sudden changes while maintaining accuracy in all work done
