Position Description:

Responsible for a variety of operational tasks associated with the IT Support and Operations Department at Ferguson. These activities include Knowledge Management and work instructions for internal processes, but are not limited to them.

Responsibilities:

  • Support IT services by conducting research and producing documents for Knowledge.
  • Facilitate the enhancement and documentation of operational company policies, processes, and procedures
  • ServiceNow supports the administration of technical documentation revisions. Database
  • Examine published materials and suggest alterations to their scope, format, content, and distribution
  • Encourage the sharing of knowledge by collaborating with departments and project teams.
  • Complete the knowledge procedure established by the Knowledge Management Team
  • Responsible for overseeing work queues and appropriately prioritizing work.
  • Manage complex documentation initiatives
  • Analyze documents to ensure style and content consistency. Ensure accurate upkeep of publications, materials, records, and other relevant documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in English, Communications, Journalism, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Technical Writing; or professional experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
  • Technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing experience.
  • Capability to deliver high-quality documentation with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Utilization expertise with content management systems
  • Capacity to quickly comprehend and communicate complex technical concepts in text and images.
  • Capability to establish goals, prioritize multiple objectives with varying deadlines, and manage documentation projects independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and shifting priorities concurrently. Solid understanding of document formatting and presentation techniques.
  • Strong interviewing and listening abilities, with the ability to elicit key messages from non-communicators.
  • Knowledge of methods and principles for information gathering, content planning, and document organization
  • Capacity to exert positive influence on others to ensure projects are completed on time and with high quality.
  • Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Office 365 suite; SharePoint Online proficiency is a plus.
  • Capability to work independently and cross-functionally within a team environment
  • Capability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees with minimal direction in a highly complex environment. Capability to quickly master new systems and tools.
