The Endevor Systems Engineer is an individual contributor who works on delivering and supporting the Endevor platform for CVS Health, with a focus on Aetna mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will be a key member of the DevOps Engineering team and will help design, develop, and maintain the support processes and procedures for Endevor and mainframe DevOps. This candidate will work with different infrastructure and application development teams to help manage the configuration of mainframe software and deliver applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Endevor build & deploy processor development & maintenance
  • Help Endevor with projects related to SOX, internal audit, external audit, and CAEIRS
  • Test Endevor and PDSMAN with new versions of the z/OS operating system software and new mainframe hardware.
  • Provide Endevor help desk support via JIRA
  • Help build and maintain Endeavour’s structures
  • Help customers use Endevor by giving them hints and tips
  • Maintain Endevor and PDSMAN software datasets, master control files, package databases, base and delta libraries, listing libraries, xpediter symbolic files, and output libraries.
  • Test Endevor & PDSMAN during DBAR tests
  • During DBAR tests, work with the shared services and AD staff to move code.
  • Help Endevor get packages done and automate ships.
  • Make sure that the new Endevor package execution and ship automation work well.
  • Provide shared services and APPDEV with training on package execution and ship automation as needed.
  • Keep the Endevor Top Secret security structure in good shape.
  • Upgrade Endevor and PDSMAN software
  • Apply the software PTFs for Endevor and PDSMAN.
  • Try out new versions of Endevor and PDSMAN
  • Analysis, testing, documentation, and implementation of new Endevor features for Endevor and PDSMAN PTFs
  • Provide ongoing cross-training for the Endeavour team. Help the production migration team.
  • Take part in the Endeavour Users of New England and California Endevor Global User Community Community of Endevor Users
  • Join the Broadcom/CA partner validation program for Endevor and PDSMAN
  • Keep the vendor relationship with Broadcom and CA
  • Provide on-call support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through MIR3 for our internal batch support and customer support.
  • Develop/Maintain Endevor Zeke batch jobs
  • Develop and keep customer and team documentation for Endeavour
  • Need background/experience
  • Strong knowledge of how to use the operating system and application parts of a mainframe.
  • At least 5 years of experience with software configuration management tools for mainframe software. Endevor is preferred.
  • Ability to work with teams that have members from different fields, such as software developers and infrastructure engineers.
  • Good at getting things done, talking to people, and organizing.
  • On-call shifts to help with operational problems.

Pay Range

The usual range of pay for this job is: Minimum: 43.27 Maximum: 86.54

Please keep in mind that this range is the pay range for all jobs in the same job grade as this position. The actual salary offer will depend on a lot of things, like where the job is.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or work experience that is similar.
