Position Description

The System Engineer is accountable for the provisioning and operational maintenance of VXI’s server infrastructures on a daily basis. The primary responsibilities consist of day-to-day operational activities spanning multiple disciplines (VMware, Microsoft, and some Linux), as well as updating infrastructure services (Server hardware, Windows OS, VMware), providing all aspects of infrastructure monitoring, and creating technical documentation.

The System Engineer will be part of a team that provides support 24/7/365. On-call after-hours and weekend work is occasionally required.

Principal Responsibility

• Maintain the integrity and consistency of all aspects of the Data Center and VXI server infrastructure, including virtual and hybrid platforms and documentation.
• Install VMware and Microsoft-related software products and perform configuration management, security hardening, maintenance, testing, and documentation.
• Ensure the highest level of virtualization platform security, availability, reliability, and performance.
• Provide technical analysis and problem diagnosis.
• Conduct problem identification and resolution across Windows/VMware platforms, technologies, and environments

• Strong practical experience in constructing and managing VMware clusters.
• Extensive familiarity with Microsoft technologies (Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure, Teams, etc.)
• Proficient Knowledge of Enterprise Storage Technologies (SAN, NAS, DR Replication)
• Solid comprehension of contemporary Cloud platforms
• Capability to install, configure, manage, and provide support for Intel-based servers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Outstanding prioritization and organization skills, as well as the capacity to work independently.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Three years or more of experience with Windows Server Administration, Active Directory, VMware 6.5/6.6, Storage Area Networks, and Enterprise Server Hardware
• Experience with Cisco UCS is a plus.
• Two years for VMware (Required)
