What you intend to do
- Gives the Planner with leadership, guidance, and growth to ensure they are accountable for their duties, obligations, and actions to identify, discuss, and solve problems in the region.
- Helps in the development of the departments’ strategy, goals, objectives, and requirements.
- Ensures that planners determine the most effective actions, such as:
- Improves aircraft serviceability, airworthiness, and successful aircraft maintenance program execution.
- In charge of employee schedules
- Controls sick and vacation time, as well as overtime and OSHA Occupational Injury Reports.
- Informs staff of all procedural changes and offers job-related knowledge through crew meetings.
- Responsible for employee on-the-job training and recommending and/or implementing work simplification systems.
- Responsible for the administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Creates pleasant departmental working relationships

- Does performance evaluations and provides feedback
- During the probationary phase, conducts probationary progress reports on all new workers to inform them of their progress and performance.
Everything you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training in a similar field
3 years of expertise in the field of aircraft maintenance planning - Education and prior job experience are preferred qualifications.
- 3 years of operational experience in an aircraft
Qualifications, Licenses, and Certifications
- Understanding of Maintenance Planning Systems (SCEPTRE, AMPS)
- Capability to explore and use AA Web-based systems (ASOM, SAFE, APC)
- Capacity to collaborate with personnel protected by a collective bargaining agreement.
- Knowledge of current maintenance processes, including MEL and the deferral process, as well as the ability to manage several tasks at once in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities are required, as is the ability to work in demanding settings during peak operations.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays) in a 24-hour workplace.
