The ideal candidate will have considerable expertise in all aspects of TV production, including but not limited to booking, field producing, traveling for breaking news stories, getting people ready for TV appearances, and live control room experience. Additionally, this position requires management expertise as well as good editorial judgment for thoroughly analyzing pitches and stories.
Responsibilities:
For the GMA booking staff in the nights, the supervising producer will provide direction, administration, and editorial leadership. The job works closely with the Chief Executive Editorial Producer, Senior Team, and Executive Producer to design the booking strategy for both short-term and long-term bookings. This position covers every area of editorial and live production, including pitching the best story ideas each day, delegating team members to research stories and secure the best guests, and managing the logistics of bringing in guests both on location and in our studio.

- A minimum of eight years’ experience working in a hectic news or broadcast setting
- A seasoned booking producer and field producer who has traveled and worked in a breaking news position is required.
- In addition to having great editorial judgment, the candidate should be able to write well, multitask, and prioritize.
- It will be necessary for the candidate to work a staggered schedule, which may include weekends and late hours. There will be long hours and last-minute travel involved.
- All of the news programming on the ABC Television Network, such as “World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Nightline,” “Good Morning America,” “20/20,” “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” ABC News Radio, ABCNews.com, and satellite provider NewsOne, is produced by ABC News. An award-winning team offers the most recent data and analysis of significant events to give viewers a global perspective.
Necessary education: undergraduate degree
This remote job has a salary range of $131,700 to $181,060 per year, which takes into account different geographical areas. Internal equity will be taken into consideration when determining the basic pay that is actually offered, and it may also change based on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, abilities, and experience, among other things. Depending on the level and job offered, the remuneration package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units in addition to the complete range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
