A highly motivated Solutions Architect is needed by Amazon Web Services to aid the Global Wide Public Sector practice’s expanding U.S. Federal Civilian Government business. As an AWS Solutions Architect, you will have the chance to work closely with clients and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers to develop and implement a strategy to expand widespread use of Amazon’s utility computing web services (such as AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront). Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around particular implementation projects; defining implementation architectures; responding to RFPs; developing in-depth expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad knowledge of how applications and services are built using the AWS platform; and serving as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to client applications and services.
Working with a top-notch sales and business development team, you will provide great technical design and thought leadership to the Federal Civilian Government markets as a member of our team. You will take the helm of initiatives to compile and disseminate best-practice knowledge across the community of AWS solution architects. You will get the chance to interact with some of the most talented technical experts working in the field today throughout the spectrum of enterprise architecture. For designing large-scale cloud computing systems, the ideal applicant will have experience working with industry best practices for security, standards, and compliance.

Requirements:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of experience in application and infrastructure design, implementation, or consulting
- 4+ years of experience in one or more specific technical domains (such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Moderate to advanced familiarity with AWS services
- Previous work in a technical capacity for a sales organization
- Previous work in state or local government – Knowledge of infrastructure and security standards like HIPAA, CJIS, etc.
- Experience using a structured system development lifecycle to lead or produce high-quality, enterprise-scale software products
- Up to 30% of the time being able to travel

Our pay is in line with the cost of labor in different US regions. In our lowest geographic area, the basic salary for this position is $105,100 per year, whereas in our top geographic region, it is $204,300 per year. Compensation is based on a number of variables, including market location, and may change in accordance with knowledge, abilities, and experience pertinent to the position.
