Position Description:

As AssemblyAI expands swiftly, we are looking for a motivated and committed Senior DevOps Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. It’s an excellent time to join the AssemblyAI team because of the tremendous investment and capable leadership that are fostering our expansion.

In this position, you will have the chance to:

  • Make sure the AssemblyAI cloud infrastructure supports the important objectives of our team.
  • Your main objective will be to make sure that the cloud infrastructure supports our team’s crucial objectives, including security, dependability, scalability, performance, and profitability.
  • Lead the infrastructure efforts for AssemblyAI.
  • As a member of the team, you will assist in directing AssemblyAI’s efforts to develop new infrastructure for our CI pipelines and production monitoring systems. This infrastructure will enable our team to ship and support high-quality software with speed and dependability.
  • Help internal teams accomplish important business initiatives.
  • In order to provide DevOps assistance and expertise for important initiatives, you will collaborate closely with software developers, customer service, go-to-market, and product managers. In order to make our infrastructure’s deployment, administration, and introspection tools automated, secure, and properly abstracted for our developers to use and maintain, you will function as a subject matter expert to internal teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of work experience in a DevOps position
  • Knowledge of git, source control, or something similar
  • Having scaled-up AWS experience using key services like Lambda, Step Functions, RDS, EC2, ECS, SQS, and SNS
  • Knowledge in writing tools and apps in Python and Bash, as well as of container orchestration systems like Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of configuration management and infrastructure-as-code using Ansible, Terraform, or comparable products
  • Knowledge of cloud monitoring applications like AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic
  • A thorough knowledge of logging, monitoring, and CI/CD
  • You produce thorough documentation for operational procedures.
  • BS in computer science or an equal level of expertise
