Position Description:
A backend software engineer is needed to join a team that is tasked with developing Reddit’s multi-cloud computing architecture. You will be involved in the design, development, and operations of one of the biggest sites in the world in this high impact role. The goal of the Compute team is to give teams a platform to efficiently and autonomously run their compute workloads in a fast, dependable, and secure manner.
How You’ll Act:
- Work cooperatively with a group of software and systems engineers to develop and manage the main infrastructure platform for Reddit.
- Create, build, and deliver software to make Reddit’s products more efficient, scalable, and available.
- Give feedback on the computing platform’s technical and strategic direction.
- Automate crucial processes inside the infrastructure as well as crucial components of the development process, like service creation and management.
Who You Could Be
- 3+ years of experience, ideally in infrastructure positions, designing internet-scale software.
- AWS/GCE ecosystems, Kubernetes, and prior familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms are advantages.
- Programming expertise in at least one general-purpose language, such as Python, Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
- Excellent communication abilities to work with a team and organization that is service-oriented.
