Seeking a technical visionary to assist Amazon in developing the next-generation marketing technology to engage hundreds of millions of valuable customers with personalized and emotionally-resonant products, services, and benefits, thereby enhancing the best-in-class shopping experience.

This Senior Engineer will assist in defining our technology road map, determining our technical direction, leading the execution of building and operating a highly scalable and maintainable engineering platform, and utilizing measurement insights gained through experimentation to drive continued technology advancement through rapid iterations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of a team of talented and experienced cross-disciplinary professionals responsible for conceiving and implementing innovative technology solutions to deliver the best consumer-facing programs.
• You will be responsible for defining solutions, developing prototypes, deriving insights from big data and experiments, creating solutions that are dependable, scalable, and maintainable, and achieving operational excellence in production.

• Work with product management and executive teams’ key stakeholders to define strategy and requirements.
• Lead cross-functional new technology development from inception to delivery
• Work with remote teams to deliver launch-supporting software and services on time.
• Regularly update senior management on status, risks, and change management.

About the group

Teams from LEO Tech develop a marketing platform (middle funnel) for internal Amazon product teams to target customers. Our pipelines process petabyte-scale datasets, extract and index actionable insights that drive high-value actions for our customers, personalize their Amazon experience, and improve engagement across a large number of our new products.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Four plus years of professional experience in software development
• Three or more years of experience programming in at least one software programming language
• Contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scalability) for at least two years.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, OR engineering team leader.
• Contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scalability) of new and existing systems for a minimum of two years.
• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language including object-oriented design, such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Four plus years of professional experience in software development
• Two or more years of experience as a mentor, technical lead, or engineering team leader.
