Position Description:

Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Conduct synchronous live courses remotely (residency in California required).
  • Plan and organize instruction to maximize student engagement and learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
  • Use appropriate strategies to effectively communicate subject matter.
  • Maintain current certifications in subjects taught.

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Exhibit deep knowledge in your field.
  • Relate your subject to related fields.
  • Engage in professional development to stay current in your subject area.

Adherence to College Policies:

  • Keep student database updated with attendance and grades.
  • Comply with instructional quality and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain scheduled class hours and follow CIAT policies.
  • Manage necessary resources, including textbooks and equipment.
  • Collaborate with staff and participate in new initiatives.
  • Adhere to CIAT’s business casual attire policy as outlined in the employee handbook.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (software development instructors) with official transcripts.
  • At least 3 years of field experience, or 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Advanced expertise in subject matter preferred.
  • Knowledge in C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, databases, iOS and Android app development.
  • Curriculum development experience is a plus.
  • Effective presentation, communication, and technology skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and learning technologies like Canvas and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and solve problems effectively.
  • Flexibility, creativity, dependability, and a sense of urgency.
  • Availability to work assigned schedules, adapting to coverage needs.
