Position Description:
The Enterprise Platform team at American Express was formed in 2018 to reinvent the platform solution-delivery paradigm in order to improve our strategic agility, speed to market, delivery effectiveness, and transparency. Our teams provide solutions for 20K+ Sales, CRM, and Marketing professionals around the world by leveraging the power of data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to provide powerful selling and re-selling engines to acquire new clients and expand existing client connections.
Responsibilities:
We are searching for engineers that have a solid basis, which they can demonstrate through a combination of official education, self-learning, personal projects, or formal employment experience. This is not the job for you if you are unwilling to learn and write code. Please keep in mind that we are open to this function being completed entirely remotely.
- Create and deploy Salesforce declarative solutions, customizations, applications, extensions, and connectors to deliver solutions affecting many platforms and products.
- Conduct code reviews and ad hoc pair programming; contribute to the iterative improvement of team tools, automation, and procedures
- Improve our CI/CD workflow tools and practices.
- Continuously rewrite code, use visualization and other tools to accelerate concepts, and achieve continuous improvement
- Encourage internal sourcing.
- Oversee and mentor a group of 5-8 junior engineers.
- Ability to properly connect and interact with individuals of all ages and backgrounds
- Capability to analyze business requirements and architect/estimate solutions on a variety of scales
- Learn about new technology and create chances for adoption.
- Organize and lead the whole solution cycle in close coordination with our ecosystem’s product partners and engineering teams.
- Promote talks to explore alternate or diverse approaches to problem solving, break down barriers, and push conflict resolution to ensure team productivity.

- A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related subject is required.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Salesforce Development Experience of 6+ Years
- 6+ years of experience working in an agile development team with a modern programming language (Apex/Java/C#/Scala/Python/Go).
- Expertise managing the discovery, definition, and resolution of difficult needs for at least six cloud engagements
- Salesforce deployments on many platforms (8+ recommended)
- Prior experience integrating Sales cloud, Service cloud, and SFDX is required.
- Experience implementing one or more client communities and one or more partner communities
- Proficiency with Apex, Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, JavaScript-based frameworks such as React/Angular, and UI Frameworks is required.
- Good understanding of application, data security, and financial compliance standards
- Solid understanding of microservices, Function as a Service, and RESTful API development
- Experience with enterprise scale engineering technologies (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, SVN, Stack Overflow, Jenkins, Maven, XLR, Jacoco, JMeter, Copado, Circle CI)
- Salesforce Platform App Builder, Salesforce Administrator, and Salesforce Developer
