Position Description:

This position is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division. This position is responsible for leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve business problems at American Airlines by participating in all phases of the development process from inception to transition, advocating the agile process and test-driven development, using object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test reusable objects, and making the codebasis.

What you intend to do

• Collaborates with executives, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads, and other developers, as well as internal customers, to understand and develop demands based on business requirements.
• Using domain-driven design and test-driven development, maintains and improves existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms.
• Complex issues are troubleshooted and debugged; solutions are identified and implemented.
• Detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates are created.
• Investigates and deploys new technologies in order to improve current procedures, security, and performance.
• Contributes to the establishment of coding standards and follows best practices and security guidelines
• Works closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure that decisions suit the long-term objectives of the company.

Everything you’ll need to succeed

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, technology, information systems (CIS/MIS), engineering, or a similar technical subject is required, or comparable experience/training.
• 3 years of full SDLC expertise designing, developing, and deploying large-scale applications in hosted production environments
• Professional, design, and open-source expertise spanning three years
