Position Description:

• Responsible for coding and producing engaging, content-focused digital experiences.
• You’ll help us grow our digital channels and engage with team members in new and exciting ways.
• You will approach content experiences with a mobile-first mindset and a penchant for linking content strategy and information architecture to intelligent design.
• Closely collaborate with digital designers and developers to create, code, and publish engaging communication solutions that keep our team members informed and engaged.

What you intend to do

• Create innovative interactive webpages for our company intranet, newsroom site, and other digital platforms by designing, coding, developing, and publishing them.
• Develop intelligent videos and animations to tell tales across several screens.
• Be a trailblazer. Constantly be on the lookout for new technology that we can use to create innovative methods to engage our team members and keep material fresh.
• Provide strategic recommendations on innovative and intriguing ways to boost web content interaction and contribute to the evolution of our CMS and publishing technologies.
• Assist in the direction of usability testing and research; transform results into functional improvements
• Work with stakeholders to create elevated digital experiences that include digital best practices that correspond with business and design objectives.
• Accept challenges and continually seek methods to improve the product.
• Provide uniformity and simplicity of use across all internal platforms by championing American’s internal visual design and brand standards.
• Explore and construct conceptual models, flows, sitemaps, and navigation schemes to embrace the creative process.

Everything you’ll need to succeed

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training in computer science, design, marketing, or a related subject
• 3+ years of experience creating appealing web-based interfaces

Qualifications Preferred

• HTML5, CSS, Javascript, WordPress, basic jQuery, and prior web design skills are required.
• Experience dealing with SharePoint, WordPress, Axios HQ, and other platforms is required. Comprehensive understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, XD, After Effects, and Premier
• Excellent visual design talents, including animation/motion graphics, video, screen layouts, information design, and typography.
• Ability to collaborate with other designers and manage a web development project from initial design concepts to implementation Experience with user testing to inform design and development Experience with organizing large amounts of content to deliver meaningful and easy-to-use/navigate user interfaces Ability to perform in a fast-paced, Agile-based, iterative environment Portfolio of work that demonstrates required skills and detailed attention to typography, cohesion, and navigation
