PepsiCo is undergoing rapid transformation in the era of big data and digital technologies. To unlock new capabilities and innovations in areas like eCommerce, mobile experiences, and IoT, we are seeking a C# Azure Developer with a background in data engineering. This role is located in [Insert Job Location] and offers the opportunity to play a key role in transitioning our organization from on-premises to the cloud. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop data pipelines, support analytics, visualization, machine learning, and product development efforts. The ideal candidate should have at least 5+ years of experience in cloud platforms, with 2+ years in Azure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and operations of data products to enable a positive impact on the business.
  • Build data pipelines into various source systems, rest data on the PepsiCo Data Lake, and enable data exploration.
  • Collaborate with process owners, product owners, and business users.
  • Transition large and complex data applications to public cloud environments.
  • Engage in technical discussions with business leads and resolve sector-specific support issues.
  • Coordinate with the development team to deliver bug fixes and enhancements.
  • Document and articulate technical requirements to stakeholders.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions and implement process improvements.
  • Provide status reports to senior management.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of technology experience with at least 8+ years in hands-on software development and data engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL optimization, programming languages (e.g., Python, PySpark, Scala), and cloud data engineering (Azure certification is a plus).
  • Experience with version control systems, deployment, and CI tools.
  • Strong data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT pipeline development skills.
  • Knowledge of data profiling and data quality tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and statistical/ML techniques is a plus.
  • Experience in retail or supply chain is beneficial.
  • Understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data glossaries is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of agile development, DevOps, and DataOps concepts.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., PowerBI).
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related fields.
  • Thorough knowledge in Spark, SQL, Python, Databricks, and Azure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and communicate confidently with senior management.
  • Adaptability to change and a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Strong organization skills and effective coordination within a team.
  • Ability to foster a culture of accountability, communication, and self-management.
  • Proactive approach to drive impact and engagement.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new skills.
  • Azure Fundamental certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency with GIT, understanding of DevOps pipelines, and experience with data quality frameworks are desirable.
  • Understanding of cloud networking and web applications is a plus.
