Responsibilities:

Conducts analysis of various healthcare data under general supervision or publishes reports to evaluate the health and financial effects of Aetna initiatives and products.

The duties of this position include business data and process analysis, technical solution recommendation, report creation, and other solution creation as required to suit business needs. Daily tasks will comprise:

  • Ad hoc and production-based writing of SQL procedures, queries, and reports for the investigation of data patterns or anomalies affecting company success.
  • In order to assist corporate strategic and operational planning, information products should be defined, identified, developed, and implemented proactively.
  • Assists in the creation of and takes part in the presentation to current and potential clients as well as internal business divisions.
  • The candidate must be a proficient user of SQL, able to analyze root causes, examine results, and determine and implement future steps.
  • Even though other people are directly responsible for the output, the person should be able to advance numerous initiatives at once and be accountable for the outcomes.
  • Relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders are essential.

Requirements:

Required credentials

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of communicating information to different audiences.
  • 3+ years’ experience in programming or analysis related to the topic.
  • understanding of several reporting tools, including Business Objects, Microsoft Access, web development technology, big data analytics, data mining, and Visual Basic.
  • knowledge of data systems, relational databases, and data warehouses.
  • knowledge in database management and statistical analysis.
  • understanding of SQL and other analytical programming techniques.
  • thorough familiarity with the health care sector, policy, research design, univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, predictive modeling, case-mix and risk adjustment tools.
  • Working knowledge of big data sets from various data sources, as well as experience working in a data warehouse environment.
  • solid knowledge of mainframe environments and sophisticated databases.
  • powerful SQL programming abilities demonstrated aptitude for analysis and problem-solving.

Preferred Requirements

  • A higher education is preferred.
  • Preferable is solid knowledge of health care claims, goods, and systems.

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as healthcare, social science, computer science, economics, statistics, or mathematics, or equivalent work experience
