Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct the completion of assessments of every data center in the AMER-E area. Ascertain that all vulnerabilities found during this assessment process are properly documented and that appropriate steps are taken to address any security vulnerabilities that are found.
- Assist clients of Amazon Security directly by reviewing security-related documents and explaining how to apply all physical security standards and policies to their actual surroundings.
- To improve the security posture of our data facilities, develop and assess innovative and cutting-edge technologies and security measures that may be applied to the current suite of security procedures and measures.
- Support the global SPEAR Team in deciding the Amazon Physical Security Program’s strategic direction based on consumer interactions and measurable results.
- Ensure that the leadership team of Amazon Security is kept up to date on all issues, actions, and stakeholder and customer engagement status.
- Stay up to date on events and trends in the business. Create and preserve relationships with important manufacturers and industry players.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL EQUALITIES
- At least seven years of expertise with video surveillance systems, access control/intrusion detection, and/or physical security principles.
- More than seven years of experience performing reviews of current facilities and putting the Physical Security Principles to use in real-world situations.
- Over seven years of expertise analyzing novel and state-of-the-art physical security technologies and apparatus.
- More than five years of expertise in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
- Able to travel locally and internationally for up to ~50% of your working hours.
DESIDERED SPECIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in executing assessments of physical security, including personnel, procedures, and measures such as video surveillance and access control/intrusion detection.
- A thorough comprehension of cloud computing functionalities.
- Speak in public with ease and experience.
- Expertise in creating effective evaluation initiatives.
- The capacity to interact and communicate with people of both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Proficient in both writing and oral communication.
- A track record of successfully managing and leading team members that are spread out geographically.
- Proficiency in briefing and interacting with managers at all levels.
- A track record of attention to detail and a proven capacity for self-motivation and project completion.
- Proven understanding of physical security best practices, such as the use of physical security systems, investigative methods, contract security guard management, and incident handling.
- Capacity to treat private information with caution.
- Proficiency in adjusting to a global work setting.
- For this position, satisfies or above Amazon’s leadership principles standards.
- Achieves or surpasses the functional and technical depth and complexity required by Amazon for this position.
