Position Description:

As an EIRP Incident Response Manager, you will be in charge of managing a vast and often complicated portfolio of data security issues involving American Express merchants, third parties, corporate clients, bank partners, and so on. This position necessitates collaboration with key internal and external partners, an attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to think quickly and efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• To check facts, assess the impact/risk, confirm incident containment, determine underlying cause, and document remedial plans, employ an incident response process.
• Determine whether American Express has data subject (e.g., card member) and/or regulatory notification needs by consulting with legal, compliance, and privacy groups.
• Collaborate and communicate with important partners at all organizational levels, including senior and C-suite leadership, legal counsel, corporate affairs and communications, fraud/risk, global security, and other business areas.
• Collaborate with internal technology and information security teams to gather data security incident information and insight.
• In data security incident investigations, collaborate with external actors such as PCI forensic investigators (PFIs), merchants, third parties, card issuers, acquirers, processors, external legal counsel, and law enforcement.
• Offer multi-regional assistance and actively contribute to program enhancements.

Minimal requirements:

• A strong interest in cyber security.
• 3+ years of expertise in a field relevant to incident response/management, portfolio/project management, and/or investigations.
• Knowledge of how to translate ambiguous and complex concepts into understandable and practical information.
• Communication, time management, prioritization, multitasking, and relationship management skills that are well developed.
• Eager to tackle challenges with extensive technical knowledge and intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to operate both alone and collectively as a team member.
• On occasion, after-hours assistance and on-call obligations may be necessary.
