Position Description:
Teams in Apparel and Accessory (A&A), Home, Seasonal, Beauty, and Electronics prioritize guest experience while balancing responsibilities that assure product availability and ease of shopping – pulling, filling, pricing, arranging, staging, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.
No two days are ever the same as a Specialty Sales Team Leader, however a typical day will most likely contain the following responsibilities:
- Showcase a service culture that prioritizes the guest experience. To execute on our GUEST service model culture, we must model, train, and coach expectations.
- Show your commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by engaging in continuous learning, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively minimizing bias.
- Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals, as well as guest engagement; this includes planning merchandising, pricing workload, transitions, revisions, sales plans, events, and promotions.
- Create a schedule that meets the demands of both the guests and the business (this includes early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends)
- Lead a team of A&A, Home, Seasonal, Beauty Electronics, and Baby consultants who are informed and passionate about each department’s brands, trends, and promotions.
- Make sure your staff is prepared to engage with all guests by modeling active selling strategies and running active selling scenarios with them to assist them gain confidence in their active selling talents.
- Empower the team to use the resources available in their department (for example, the fitting room, testers, and displays) to welcome, inspire, and influence guests by making tailored recommendations to finish their purchase.
- Encourage guests to purchase confidently in speciality departments by generating compelling visual moments and ensuring inventory is properly sorted, signed, and merchandised to match seasonal trends.
- Lead assigned business units’ backroom processes, organization, layout, and salesfloor replenishment to ensure goods is available for guests.
- Develop a guest-centric staff by evaluating and recommending candidates for available roles.
- Through development, coaching, and team interactions, lead team onboarding, learning, and help close product knowledge and skill gaps.
- If applicable to your assigned areas of responsibility, ensure that fitting rooms are used as an extension of the sales floor and that they are welcoming, clean, and safe.
- Have clear goals and expectations, and hold team members accountable to them.
- In all areas, including clearance, provide service and a shopping experience that satisfies the needs of the guest.
- Show an ethical, safe, and compliant culture; lead and hold the team accountable to work in the same manner.
- Follow all safe and secure training and practices as a key carrier, if appropriate.
- Address store requirements (emergency, regulatory visits, etc.)
- Maintain a compliance culture while performing guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU), and drive-up (DU), as well as compliance with federal, state, and municipal adult drinking laws.
- All other duties as assigned by the company

- A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience in retail is preferred but not essential.
