Responsibilities:
- Use computers to classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data in order to generate and maintain financial records.
- Take all necessary steps to make human inbound/outbound calls or automatic dialing to collect payments or charge-off recoveries.
- May start and prepare files for skip tracing, charge-off, repossession, and NOD.
- Make sure the inventory system has a record of all recovered or returned collateral.
- Talk with different auction houses, repossession firms, motor vehicle offices across the United States, and other divisions inside
- Section of consumer credit.
- Adhere to collection laws, the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Speak with consumers about disputes, reinstatements, and redemptions.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of call center experience in customer service
- GED or high school diploma necessary.
Knowledge and Certifications:
- The ability to evaluate a customer’s financial status in order to make a probable loss mitigation referral.
- Communication abilities both orally and in writing, as well as attention to detail and critical thinking.
- The capacity for independent work and time management.
- Awareness of accounting-related rules, practices, and laws at the federal, state, and corporate levels.
- Previous knowledge of any relevant computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
