Position Description:

Collaborate with the Director of Product Development, Product Managers, and Scrum Masters for each development and product team to assist identify project objectives and collect the scope of work from each project team member for each phase of the project. Establish and implement project procedures and workflows, as well as lead various small and big software application development projects from concept to launch, on time and on budget. Where applicable, facilitate and lead planning meetings, reviews, retrospectives, technical architecture discussions, and system design conversations. Understand every facet of the project, including all short and long-term objectives, as well as the whole project calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Product Managers and Scrum Masters of the various product teams to develop and implement project plans that meet business needs, as well as manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project plan and scope.
  • Monitor and update the project plan on a daily basis, including deliverables, dependencies, assignments, and results, to ensure project deliverables are completed on schedule and on budget.
  • Handle several concurrent projects over their entire lifespan, beginning with business analysis and continuing through project start-up, execution, conclusion, and wrap-up.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Product Development to receive permission on proposed scope and prioritization modifications, as well as a deeper understanding of each project’s cost and budget.
  • Maintain constant communication with the project teams about the project’s objective, history, scope, requirements, and critical issues.
  • Write project reports for the Director of Product Development that include activity and deliverable updates, project hazards, critical routes, and notable changes and risks.
  • Proactively manage project scope changes, detect potential crises, and develop contingency plans, including risk mitigation methods. collaborating with the Product Development Director and project teams
  • Perform project post-mortems and compile a report of suggestions to identify successful and problematic project parts.
  • Implement best practices in the development process and project management, and promote continuous improvement while being flexible to tailor project management methods, tools, and templates as needed for each specific project.
  • Contribute to the coordination and mediation of regular stand-up meetings, grooming meetings, and sprint planning meetings.
  • For non-routine projects, will be fully capable of developing or adapting a wide range of technical and/or managerial procedures while adhering to the principles of good Agile practice.
  • Organize and lead planning meetings, reviews, retrospectives, technical architecture discussions, and system design conversations as needed.
  • Help with R&D tax credit reporting for the department, including tracking department time and associated projects.
  • Identify and propose project process changes to management for consideration, and implement agreed changes.
  • Every project and workflow departmental processes should be documented and published.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science
  • 7 years of professional experience, mostly in project management
  • Scrum Master experience for at least two years with a software development team that adhered to Scrum principles, practices, and theories
  • Good interpersonal abilities, as well as the capacity to interact with people of various personality types
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Certification in Project Management. PMI-ACP or Certified SCRUM Master certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft’s Azure DevOps or JIRA is preferred, as as knowledge of SharePoint and Aha!
  • Expertise developing SQL queries for project reports would be advantageous.
