Do you believe in the potency of audio storytelling? ABC Audio is dedicated to expanding its podcast portfolio and producing captivating, must-listen material, ranging from extensively documented long-form storytelling to compelling, provocative conversations. To do this, we need experienced producers.

We are searching for a Podcast Producer to join our team that possesses expert audio production abilities, great writing skills, and keen editorial judgment. Building on the success of our well-liked and acclaimed true crime library, which includes The Dropout and Truth and Lies: The Informant, the producer will concentrate on our long-form narrative series.

The chosen applicant is highly motivated and innovative. A track record of successful scriptwriting is required. We’re looking for someone who can fulfill deadlines on their own, but who can also work well with producers and talent from other parts of the news business.

Responsibilities:

• Storyboarding and writing scripts for lengthy podcasts
• Editing for a variety of projects, such as daily, weekly, and lengthy podcasts
• Collaborating with ABC’s news and documentary producers and artists to turn their reporting into captivating podcasts
• Organizing in-person and remote recording sessions
• Working with ABC’s legal, standards, and rights and clearances teams to examine and approve scripts and outside audio clips
• Participating in the creation of a new show

Requirements:

• Four years or more of experience working for a reputable podcast production company in audio production
• Expertise with audio editing programs
• A background in journalism, excellent writing abilities, and a passion for pop culture, history, and current affairs
• Working with talent experience, including in-studio coaching of hosts
• A keen eye for detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to function and communicate well under time constraints
• Comprehensive knowledge of the podcasting market, its practices, and its tendencies

Necessary education

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience

In New York, the salary range for this occupation is $75,00 to $103,400 annually. Internal equity will be taken into consideration when determining the basic pay that is actually offered, and it may also change based on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, abilities, and experience, among other things. Depending on the level and job offered, the remuneration package may include a bonus and/or long-term incentive units in addition to the complete range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
