Responsibilities:
Insightful data is the driving force behind CVS Accountable Care’s systems and solutions. An experienced data scientist is needed to provide insights on a daily basis. In addition to having strong mathematics and statistical knowledge, the ideal applicant will also be naturally curious and innovative. This person will be counted on to ask questions, make connections, and find hidden opportunities while mining, analyzing, and cleansing our data in order to realize the data’s full potential in supporting the clinical, utilization, and financial goals of value-based care. The data scientist will crunch data using different techniques and elevate data to insights and actions that will enhance program outcomes as part of a team of professionals.
The lead data scientist is going to:
- Develop a knowledge of demands by working with teams responsible for product design, data engineering, clinical leaders, and provider partners.
- For data analysis, conduct research and create creative analytical models.
- Tools for analytics should be improved for efficiency and clarity.
- To all stakeholders, clearly communicate findings
- Improve business operations by employing analytics to gain insightful knowledge.
- Keep abreast with technological and business advancements
Important obligations include:
- Working collaboratively with matrixed engineering, analytics, technology, and clinical teams to produce new datasets that can be tapped into by our analytic capabilities is one of your duties as a data strategist.
- Recognize appropriate data sources and sets to mine, as well as huge structured and unstructured datasets and variables, for client business needs.
- Create and use models and algorithms to mine huge data stores; analyze data and errors to enhance models; and purify and validate data to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Analyze data for trends and patterns, analyze data with definite goals in mind, and give insights that may be put to use.
- Working together with product owners, vendors, developers, and engineers, put analytical models into use.
Requirements:
Required credentials
- 7 or more years of data science experience, including knowledge in data mining, arithmetic, and statistics
- 5 years or more of advanced pattern modeling experience
- SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and programming languages (such as Java, Python, R, SAS) have been used for at least five years.
- The equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or a comparable field
- Mastery of Microsoft Office 365 technologies, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage conflicting concurrent objectives and projects while working efficiently in a dynamic, agile, and highly matrixed company.
Preferred Requirements
- The equivalent of a master’s degree in a comparable discipline.
- A plus would be an advanced degree in a branch of medicine.
- Experience in project management for two years or more
- Certification for professionals (e.g., CAP, DASCA, SAS, Azure, etc.)
Education
- The equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or a comparable field
- Advanced education in a discipline relevant to health is a bonus, with a master’s degree in that field or similar experience desirable.
