Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for the company’s media technology systems.
- Respond to and resolve issues affecting production, broadcast, and content distribution.
- Troubleshoot system outages, malfunctions, and technical problems.
- Utilize system monitoring tools and participate in system maintenance.
- Remotely troubleshoot broadcast systems.
- Analyze and troubleshoot streaming audio/video signals.
- Manage third-party service providers and enforce service agreements.
- Train, motivate, and evaluate technical staff.
- Procure equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
- Develop long-term plans for media technology needs.
- Assist in policy and procedure development for technology facilities.
- Support operational activities related to audio and video production/distribution.
- Perform system upgrades and maintenance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on broadcast systems.
- Participate in complex engineering projects.
- Review and maintain system/workflow documentation.
- Conduct training and development sessions.
- Perform other duties as needed to achieve business objectives.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in media production and distribution technology environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of SMPTE standards for broadcast television and video production/streaming environments.
- Proficiency in remote troubleshooting of broadcast systems.
- Scripting proficiency (Python, NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with cloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms.
- Knowledge of compression techniques (MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, JPEG XS).
- Experience with Evertz software control systems.
- Familiarity with major media systems and vendors.
- Ability to create, read, and interpret technical drawings.
- Proven troubleshooting and sustaining experience in IP-based broadcast equipment, studio technology, file-based workflows, production control systems, transmission systems, and cloud-based technologies.
- Physical requirements: Ability to climb ladders, work on raised structures, and operate aerial lift platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current certifications in relevant SMPTE standards.
- Foundational cloud certification (e.g., Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate).
- Knowledge of Nielsen (NACAT), VANC equipment, Linear Acoustics, and related systems.
