Responsibilities:
At Delta Air Lines, SCM serves as the primary sourcing function and collaborates with a variety of internal business divisions, including: corporate services, information technology, human resources, marketing, in-flight services, cargo, and technical operations. SCM creates the contractual strategy and negotiates with suppliers for all types of goods (like food, computers, and airplane components) and services (like marketing, healthcare plans, and aircraft maintenance). This calls for wide skill sets in areas like finance, strategy, negotiations, continuous improvement, logistics, and operations that have been refined through an MBA degree after being established through professional experience.
The Summer Internship Program at Delta is set up as follows: selected candidates will work in a project-based, analytical support role within a Supply Chain commodity group. During their internship, candidates will devote a substantial amount of time to identifying important business challenges, conducting in-depth analyses, and, at the end of the summer, presenting their results to peers and SCM leadership. Candidates will also have a range of official and informal networking and socializing opportunities during the summer, both inside and outside of the workplace, to get to know Delta’s operations and culture.
Requirements:
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM)
- Candidates must have a projected MBA program graduation date by the summer of 2025 and have finished the first year of an MBA program with a concentration in finance, operations, supply chain, or another analytical subject by the summer of 2024.
- Current MBA students only
- Before enrolling in business school, students must have at least 3 years of post-undergraduate, full-time work experience.
- For the duration of the internship, you must be able to work on-site at our office in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Strong analytical, leadership, written, and vocal communication abilities are required of individuals in this field.
- Demonstrated teamwork abilities and project management abilities at all organizational levels.
- Adept at handling a lot of work in a short amount of time, which includes selecting important business challenges for analysis, organizing projects, and enacting change.
- Ability to join the chosen commodities team quickly and offer value while displaying good communication skills, candor, and self-assurance in getting things done.
- Integrity, respect for others, understanding of diversity, innovation, adherence to ethical principles, questioning the status quo, and excellence in performance were displayed.
- Consistently puts the security and safety of oneself, others, and personal information first.
- Embraces varied people, ideas, and ways of doing things.
- Holds a high school diploma, GED, or other equivalent qualification.
- Possesses legal permission to work in the US and is at least 18 years old.
