Position Description

We are searching for a Manager of Annual Giving to handle the different responsibilities of our Annual Giving Department. Our Manager of Annual Giving is accountable for supervising all aspects of our membership and annual giving programs and is required to work with the VP in developing strategic fundraising plans to grow our donor database. The ideal candidate is capable of leading high-performing direct response fundraising programs, has experience in membership or donor programs, and understands the importance of community engagement.

Responsibilities

– Oversee the creation, development, and implementation of direct mail, digital, and telemarketing campaigns that generate revenue through cost-effective donor acquisition strategies, house or special appeals, renewals, online and offline campaigns aimed at attracting, cultivating, retaining, and upgrading donors in support of overall Annual Giving goals.
– Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of direct mail campaigns, including producing and obtaining approvals for content and design that meets strict production schedules.
– Collaborate with creative and production teams on obtaining photographs, resource materials, copyright, and credit information in a timely fashion to meet strict production deadlines.
– Handle data tracking, working with external data agencies to ensure accuracy of direct response programs in line with specific mail plans.
– Monitor expenses to budget in order to project final fiscal-year expenses.
– Advise in developing acquisition mail plans, ensuring segmentation and quantities are accurate and based on strategy, goals, and budget.
– Actively recruit, train, and manage staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

– A minimum of 8 years of related experience in direct response fundraising and membership, preferably in a national-level non-profit sector.
– Exceptional project management skills and advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues.
– Excellent communication and proofreading skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel, required.
– Proven ability to collaborate and work with stakeholders to implement processes and achieve results.
– Advanced knowledge of offline and online CRM systems required, familiar with Revolution Online and Engaging Networks preferred.
– Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
– Excellent attention to detail, able to multitask efficiently, and adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.

Pay & Benefits:

The National Trust for Historic Preservation offers a competitive hiring range of $70,000 – 76,000 per year. This full-time, exempt-level position is eligible for excellent benefits, including health, dental, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, 403(b) plan, and 3+ weeks of vacation, sick time, and holidays.
