The Manager of Technology Communications is a major player in developing communication strategies that assist American Express staff members worldwide in becoming familiar with and at ease utilizing the office equipment they require to perform their tasks. Strong writing, graphic design, project management, and interpersonal abilities are required of the ideal candidate. This position reports to the Director of Technology Communications and is a part of the company’s Technology division.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the product teams to create engaging narratives and clear, compelling content that translates user journeys into simple-to-understand communications (words and pictures) for a mostly non-technical audience.
- Write all forms of messaging, including as emails, Slack postings, video scripts, intranet site copy, PowerPoint presentations, quick articles, and print and digital advertisements.
- Create visual content for emails, intranet pages, advertisements, posters, and other digital and physical assets.
- Create enduring relationships with the product teams of technology and other stakeholders.
- Keep up with the vision for technology and the developing specifics of product launches.
- Create and maintain project schedules and a communications calendar.
- Make ensuring that all communications campaigns and deliverables are consistent and of high quality.
- To make technology communications procedures better, look for improvements.
- Keep tabs on metrics and produce reports to be distributed to the team.
- Maintain company brand standards and adhere to them, ensuring that all materials are of high quality and consistency.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience developing and implementing innovative communication plans for staff members regarding workplace tools
- Strong abilities in typography and graphic design. design expertise for both real and digital materials.
- Strong editing and writing abilities, with experience in email, social media, intranet, video scripts, digital ads, and physical signs
- Excellent project management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize initiatives, influence people (including leadership), maintain sound judgment, and adjust fast.
- Word and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Intermediate proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Professional knowledge of Slack or similar cloud-based platform for office collaboration.
- Professional knowledge of Unily or another content management system for corporate intranets.
- Writing and design portfolios are necessary.
- Agency knowledge is a bonus.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, or a similar discipline.
Salary: $80,000 to $155,000 a year, with bonuses and benefits
