Position Description

Neogen is a company seeking a qualified Lead Design Researcher to join their Design team and drive the innovation process by discovering, interpreting, and identifying insights that lead to delivering unique and valuable experiences for its customers. This is a full-time position that can deliver a meaningful impact to Neogen’s users, customers, and communities around the world.

Responsibilities

The Lead Design Researcher is responsible for defining and interpreting insights for market/technology insights, customer experience, and the food health and security industry. The role includes guiding the design research team, including internal and external partners, developing research activities, co-ordinating and managing logistics internally with external partners, analyzing and synthesizing insights for strategic decisions, defining values and key user behaviors, conducting usability testing, and collaborating with other design disciplines to craft human-centered solutions. The position also requires the Lead Design Researcher to integrate design thinking to drive multidisciplinary collaborations and support multiple new design programs, redesigning efforts, or continuous improvement projects in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in a Design discipline (Design Research, Industrial Design, UX design, Service Design, or equivalent) with a minimum of 7-9 years of experience in design research, industrial design, UX design, service design for products in design agency or corporate work environments. The Lead Design Researcher is also expected to have experience working collaboratively with multi-functional experts in various settings, a strong communication skill set, and excellent advocacy for design and research.
