By safeguarding assets and information across Verizon networks, infrastructure, and applications, the Verizon Corporate Information Security (CIS) team safely supports the business. Security is included into the architecture of technology systems and services through CIS, which unifies cybersecurity governance, policies, technologies, and operations across Verizon.
The Public Sector Security team supports the security architecture and engineering efforts within the Public Sector Business Unit and reports to the Public Sector CISO of Verizon Business Group (VBG). Supporting security engineering and security compliance initiatives linked to Public Sector business goals, such as Federal, SLED, Connect, and Smart Communities, is the responsibility of the role.
Responsibilities:
The person will offer a comprehensive security architecture and engineering strategy, as well as assistance for security engineering projects and the RMF architecture.
- Gaining a greater understanding of an important telecoms company’s enterprise cyber services.
- Attending training seminars and learning programs to gain expertise about regular business operations.
- Transferring technical knowledge to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Interacting with professionals, business leaders, and other interns during networking events.

Requirements:
- Two requirements: a bachelor’s degree or at least one year of job experience.
- An undergraduate degree in cybersecurity or a closely related field.
If you own any of the following, even better:
- Internship or experience in cybersecurity.
- Understanding of compliance, risk, and/or security governance principles.
- The capacity to function autonomously in a remote setting.
- Strong communication, presenting, leadership, and analytical skills.
- The capacity to cooperate in a dynamic team context.
- Understanding of the theories and practices of cybersecurity as they relate to people, processes, and technology.
- Understanding of security regulations.
- The capacity to work in a setting that values collaboration.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities and a collaborative work style to support success with various partners.
- Good technical and organizational capabilities.
- Solid communication abilities.
- Ability to adhere to all legal standards.
- Experience managing several priorities under pressure.

The salary range for this employment, depending on a full-time schedule, is between $65,000 and $121,000 if you are hired into a California workplace. Your location, verified job-related abilities, and experience will all affect your pay. There is room for growth in this position, which is incentive-based. Your pay will be changed to reflect your hours if you are hired for a part-time position.
