Responsibilities:
A Flight Operations (Aviation Management) intern will support the achievement of divisional objectives and contribute to Delta Air Lines’ overall success. Throughout the semester, the intern will collaborate with Flight Operation’s Employee Engagement to plan weekly and monthly employee activities that promote Flight Ops’ overall engagement strategy. All interns are expected to work together to accomplish a team assignment that will be delivered to Flight Operations Leadership at the end of the semester, even though each student will be given unique tasks.
The option to learn about various departments will be available to interns, including but not limited to: Pilot hiring/selection, QA & compliance, Technical Operations, In-Flight Service, Airport Customer Service.
Additional benefits, including standby travel across the Delta system while off duty, are included with this paid internship. At Delta’s global headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, interns will work.
Requirements:
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM)
Perfect intern:
- Has expertise in airline management and operations.
- Show proficiency in abilities such as data collecting and analysis, reading and summarizing new legislation, and quick problem-solving, among others.
- Must possess in-depth understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Smartsheet.
- Outstanding communication abilities, the ability to quickly solve challenging problems, and the ability to retain discretion when handling sensitive material.
- Has initiative, the capacity for multitasking, and creative thinking.
- A U.S. passport, or the freedom to enter or leave the country.
Minimum Conditions:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate program that offers a concentration in aviation management, safety, aerospace engineering, or quality and assurance. Additionally, a candidate may have chosen to concentrate on or minor in marketing, public relations, hospitality, or communications.
- Be in good academic standing with your university and have a competitive GPA.
- Should be interested in a career in aviation management.
- Shows that protecting privacy is a top consideration while working with personal data.
- Consistently puts the security and safety of oneself, others, and personal information first.
- Embraces varied people, ideas, and ways of doing things.
- Holds a high school diploma, GED, or other equivalent qualification.
- Possesses legal permission to work in the US and is at least 18 years old.
