Responsibilities:

  • In order to identify and address employee issues within these groups, it is your responsibility to build and maintain a positive, value-added, consultative relationship with business executives and HR BPs across the American Express Blue Box.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, practices, and applicable employment laws while coaching and counseling leaders and staff on all performance management concerns, including absenteeism, performance, conduct, and harassment.
  • To encourage a positive workplace culture, offer advice for conflict resolution.
  • Manage a wide range of responsibilities, such as interpreting and creating policies and procedures, leading training on important employee relations topics, and helping to create and implement employee relations programs based on line-of-business objectives and HR strategy.
  • In some cases, this person will investigate complaints, assist in their resolution, and use trend analysis to find areas for process improvement and policy gaps.
  • Required to collaborate and consult with business partners across American Express, including the General Counsel’s Office, the HR BP community, Compliance, Safety, and Security.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • PHR certification and a bachelor’s degree are preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ minimum experience in human resources, including knowledge of labor law and employee relations.
  • HR consulting experience and the capacity to exert influence without being given authority.
  • demonstrated capacity to manage various tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. • A strong ability to communicate with people at all levels of a company.
  • Excellent written and vocal communication abilities; background in presenting; involvement in the creation of staff communications and training initiatives.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and negotiating skills, as well as the capacity to comprehend complex HR issues and settle disputes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products. the capacity to conduct investigations and push for a successful outcome.

Salary: $55,000 to $110,000 per year, with bonuses and benefits
