The Human Resources Generalist will work with our Boston office’s People & Culture team. This person will be a high-energy, independent worker who can manage the day-to-day operational tasks of our client’s HR department, including hiring, benefits administration, HRIS administration, compliance, policy enforcement, and company culture for a workforce of more than 150 professionals. Under the direction of the Director of People and Culture, the HR Generalist is in charge of assisting the HR department’s daily operations. The HR Generalist position is perfect for someone who wants to influence change in a developing firm because it entails both administrative and strategic duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement with the help of the people team, and use technology to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Guidance on HR policies and practices should be given to management and staff.
  • Assist the talent acquisition specialist throughout the entire hiring process: upkeep of applicant tracking, screening of resumes, scheduling of interviews, and coordination of correspondence with new hires
  • Helps to facilitate the new orientation and onboarding process in collaboration with the learning development manager.
  • Benefits for employees include open enrollment, benefits for new hires, day-to-day recordkeeping, and management of state and federal leave.
  • Maintains and updates personnel files and information as well as the HRIS
  • Communicate any updates or changes relating to payroll with finance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration of human resources or a closely related field
  • With 3-5 years of experience in human resources in a professional services setting and a strong background as an HR generalist
  • Certification in PHR/SHRM preferable
  • A plus is having knowledge of HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now).
  • Understanding of trends, regulations, new technology, and best practices in personnel management, HR, and employment law.
