Position Description:

The Client Billing Compliance Analyst assists the Client Billing Compliance Manager and team in increasing client realization whose engagements are subject to Outside Counsel Billing Guidelines (OCG’s). Participates in managing client setups, billing and collection agreements, and client portfolio inventory management to guarantee that client time and cost reductions due to non-compliance with guidelines are reduced. Throughout the client’s lifecycle, builds solid working relationships with attorneys while providing the best possible internal and external client service. identifies candidates for the audit and appeal program who have experience working with a particular client and who are Billing Attorneys, as well as developing and implementing training materials and workable plans to increase billing and collection realization and overall revenue.

Important Duties Involve:

  • Ensure that client OCGs and specifications are received, reviewed, documented, organized, distributed, and followed throughout the client’s lifetime with the Firm by working with the business intake, revenue management, pricing, and information governance teams, as well as billing attorneys.
  • Make sure that system setups are used effectively to enforce the client’s staffing needs.
  • Pre-audit time entries for a few chosen clients to reduce reductions made at invoice review time and quicken client settlement schedule.
  • In reaction to billing submissions that have been denied or lowered, research is done and/or appeals are created in compliance with client-driven appeal deadlines.
  • Participates in and contributes to the program’s monitoring of clients to determine their eligibility for inclusion in the compliance audit & appeal program, and does the opposite to keep track of those who are no longer receiving benefits from it.
  • Identifies trends and problems with discounts, write-downs, and write-offs and prepares reports and alerts as necessary, effectively communicating with management.
  • oversees the completion and correctness of appeals allocated to a certain paralegal team in accordance with the audit and appeal procedure.

  • Work together with the E-billing and Timekeeper Matter Maintenance teams to ensure that new clients are set up in a way that is consistent with OCG requirements, that the correct fields are updated in accordance with client billing guidelines, and that electronic invoices are successfully submitted in accordance with guideline requirements to minimize reductions.

Conduct research and create analyses pertaining to the portfolios that were assigned, offering succinct, detail-based documentation, figures, and suggestions.
  • Provide rate analysis upon request, provide recommendations based on billing trends regarding realization, and generate ad hoc reports upon request. Respond to enquiries regarding accruals, audits, and payments reports.
  • Make sure the firm’s standards and procedures are followed; encourage uniformity and knowledge of professional and technical issues to accomplish your goals for client service.

Qualifications:

  • Legal client service experience with a minimum of four years’ experience is preferred, especially in paralegal, financial revenue cycle, billing, and/or collections. We’ll also take into account people with backgrounds in other professional services, such medical billing or insurance bill review.
  • Knowing the different stages of litigation and the unique billing arrangements that result from such engagements
  • Preferable: expertise with various electronic billing platforms and knowledge of legal billing criteria
