Responsibilities:
- Gives a thorough understanding of application scaling techniques such WAS clustering and server load balancing.
- Identifies and fixes middleware problems in development, testing, and production settings.
- Proactive monitoring of all data center processes and equipment, including HVAC, power, UPSs, and site security systems, both locally and remotely
- Fosters a culture of cooperation and teamwork within the team.
- Maintains up-to-date with evolving technologies and best practices in systems technology in order to preserve domain expertise and suggest improvements or modifications.
- Supports the process of communication and reaction by responding to users’ questions about system problems, maintenance, and system status and by providing advice and escalation on any lingering or serious problems.
- Carries out the administration and upkeep of Windows Active Directory, including DNS and Group Policies.
- Gives advice to less experienced technicians and offers assistance as needed
- Travels as necessary
- Mandatory off-hours support on-call rotation schedule
Requirements:
Minimum requirements include education and previous work experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, information systems (CIS/MIS), computer science, or a closely related technical field, or comparable experience or training
- 3 years of expertise as an engineer, administrator, or manager of network infrastructure
Prior work experience and education are preferred qualifications.
- Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, technology, information systems (CIS/MIS), engineering, or a closely related technical field, or comparable experience/training
- 5+ years of experience as an engineer, administrator, or manager of network infrastructure
Knowledge, Permits, and Certifications
- Advanced capacity for strategic planning for present and future business settings, taking into account changes in technology and business model, to produce adaptable, scalable solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of IT business operations, system needs, and processes
- Experience in the following areas, as demonstrated:
- Linux (RHEL/CentOS 7/8) with Windows (2012/2016) server administration
- Terraform, PowerShell, Python, BASH, and Infrastructure as Code
- Cloud technologies – Cloud-native application design, development, and delivery (Microsoft Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud)
- GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins, CI/CD: DevOps
- Containerization: Cloud Foundry, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Monitoring of servers and applications with Dynatrace, LogDNA, and SysDig
- The capacity to comprehend difficult issues and put solutions or workarounds into practice
- The capacity to work on several projects at once and a strong desire to learn new things and increase the depth of one’s knowledge
- The capacity to thrive in an environment of urgency and to use best practices
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and capability to change work conditions and priorities.
- Mastery of the Agile project management process, with a focus on infrastructure
