What you intend to do
- Maintains current knowledge of day-to-day airline operations concerning the field of responsibility.
- Examines daily priorities in light of airline/departmental goals and management instructions
- Investigates aircraft/component problems that may result in aircraft delays or cancellations, significant labor or material costs, or interruptions in maintenance operations, and decides necessary corrective steps.
- As needed, provides engineering help for the resolution of anomalous situations affecting aircraft or components in order to restore serviceability.
- Responds to requests for technical assistance from Maintenance and other airline departments when it is needed to support initiatives or address difficulties.
- Creates action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects, then pursues final dispositions based on assessed priorities.
- Coordinates with other airline departments as needed to ensure that engineering dispositions are implemented effectively and efficiently.
- Prepares engineering papers to put technical dispositions into action by offering tailored procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance operations that generate advantages in accordance with airline/departmental objectives and management directions.
- Maintains knowledge of existing and pending regulations affecting areas of responsibility, and ensures that all Engineering actions comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Uses available resources to continuously improve technical expertise and practical experience.
- Working hours and shift schedules may be variable; travel may be required.
Everything you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field
- two years of relevant experience
Education and prior job experience are preferred qualifications.
- 3-6 years of engineering expertise with aviation systems or comparable experience
- Authoring, editing, and generating Engineering Orders (EOs), Maintenance Evaluation Team (MET) Projects, and Engineering Authorizations is a plus (EAs)
- CFRs, maintenance programs, WDM, AMM, IPC, TSM, and CMM knowledge
