For the benefit of its customers, Amazon’s Information Security Penetration Testing Team is looking for a Security Engineer. You will hack into Amazon’s services, programs, and websites in this capacity to find security flaws and submit them to our internal technology teams. If the idea of hacking Amazon with a group of highly skilled people appeals to you, this position will provide you tough chances both technologically and as a leader, but it will also be a lot of fun.
At Amazon, a security engineer must be proficient in a number of areas. In addition to directly collaborating with Information Security teams, engineers in this position offer technical guidance and leadership to teams and leaders across Amazon. You will have face-to-face interactions with teams from a range of industry sectors, giving you first-hand experience of the intricate technical workings of Amazon. Additionally, you’ll use what you learn about Amazon to come up with fresh ideas for how to break down services, procedures, and technology across the entire organization.
When choosing between technical short-term solutions and long-term security and business goals, engineers in this position must exercise exceptional judgment. You will exhibit fortitude and handle tense circumstances with poise and tact. As you carry out your responsibilities, you’ll be required to innovate, discover, and think outside the box for the firm. In order to concentrate on the ultimate aim of keeping Amazon and its customers secure, a strong feeling of customer devotion is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Performing excellent application penetration tests either alone or with a team * Developing extensive engagement plans * Contributing to team tooling, innovation, and improvements * Thoroughly documenting results, gaps, and remediation recommendations
- Coordinating efforts with senior leadership, information security, partner teams, and service owners to prioritize and advance the resolution of security findings.
Requirements:
- Three or more years of professional experience with security engineering techniques, such as web application security, network security, authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography, automation, and other software security disciplines. * Three or more years of experience with dynamic and manual code auditing to find security issues.
- Experience with threat modeling, design reviews, or other threat analysis methodologies. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, or comparable industrial experience. 3+ years of expertise with interpreted or compiled languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, C/C++, Java,.NET).
ADVANTAGED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with mobile application penetration testing * Understanding of cloud service providers and their products, preferably AWS and its different technologies and services. Experience developing security tooling and automation; Experience in CTF competitions; Experience with CVE research; and/or Experience with Bug Bounty recognition; Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
