Under the direction of Marvel editors, editorial interns learn the ins and outs of producing comic books. Interns will be learning the ins and outs of how their favorite Marvel comics are created on a daily basis as they gather resources, do research, format scripts, put up book maps, write recap pages, and check lettered comics for errors. Devoted interns will get the chance to assess color and line art, offer recommendations on where to position letters, and practice delivering script remarks. Through this virtual internship, editors will be able to advise you directly and provide you a wider view of Marvel Publishing’s other divisions.

Responsibilities:

Editorial interns create recap and solicitation material, assist with the layout of print comics, and serve as a second set of eyes from the script to the finished book. We are seeking for talented writers with an eye for detail. Additionally, interns help our writers and artists with research on the consistency of their stories and artwork. Successful interns have a passion for Marvel comics, are self-motivated, and can manage their time well.

Requirements:

Basic requirements:

All majors and backgrounds of students are welcome to apply. It is preferred and desirable to have editorial expertise as well as media with a narrative focus. It’s essential to be familiar with the Microsoft Office package.

Preferred credentials:

  • Additional internships, degrees obtained, employment experience, relevant clubs and organizations, the current major course of study, the anticipated graduation date, and extracurricular activities must all be listed on the resume.
  • A personal introduction and the days and times available during the internship period must be included in the cover letter.
  • Preferred standing at the junior or senior level
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

Necessary education:

  • By the arrival date, enrolled in a Bachelor’s program.
  • Junior or Senior status in an undergraduate program by the date of arrival is preferable.

This online internship is paid at a rate of $15 per hour.

  • Prior to participating in the internship program, you must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and take at least one class during the relevant semester or quarter (spring or fall).
  • Age requirement of at least 18 years.
  • Must not have worked continuously for a year on a Disney internship or program.
  • A valid work permit with no restrictions
  • All applicants must be capable of maintaining a dependable, constant work schedule throughout the session.

Programming Dates:

  • Everyone running for office must be accessible from January through June 2023.
  • Each applicant must be able to work a minimum of 21 to 29 hours per week from Monday through Friday during regular business hours (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor)
  • Every student is required to provide a regular, dependable work schedule during the term.
  • Environment of Work:

This internship is conducted remotely. Both a functional, dependable internet connection and a quiet, assigned workspace are necessary for the internship.
