Responsibilities:
- Lead the team in creating new communication strategies that advance Delta’s corporate objectives, give staff the knowledge they require to differentiate their customer experiences, and support our culture of being a wonderful place to work.
- Grow and create a team of matrixed communications experts who balance the business unit’s aims with Delta’s corporate goals, coordinating strategy and tone so that we speak as a single team.
- Ensure team alignment for both ongoing communications requirements and significant business projects. In charge of internal communications strategy for both operational projects and customer experience initiatives.
- Support internal issue management for difficulties affecting employees; take a key part in crisis management.
- Become an expert in employee communication and take the lead.
- Compare and pinpoint the most effective methods for employee communication
- Keep abreast of emerging trends to provide useful and perceptive communication advice and thought leadership
- In collaboration with other communication professionals, serve as a strategic advisor on a limited number of leadership teams.
- To promote a cohesive voice, amplify, and align important themes and material, consult senior level executives and collaborate holistically throughout Delta’s Brand Communications team.
- Work collaboratively with Corporate Communications, Marketing, and the larger Global Employee Communication team to enable the effective and reliable implementation of global, enterprise initiatives.
Requirements:
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM)
- If you are not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc., you must have obtained or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by the date of hire in order to be considered for a position based in the United States.

- Holds a high school diploma, GED, or other equivalent qualification.
- Possesses legal permission to work in the US and is at least 18 years old.
- Having a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related profession is preferred.
- Internal communications experience with a minimum of 15 years’ experience is necessary.
- Needs to have experience building and developing teams
- Strong history of assisting senior executives is necessary.
- The capacity to understand and speak clearly, generate a cogent opinion on complex problems, and write a succinct and polished story are all requirements for having outstanding writing skills.
- It should be possible for them to influence groups of front-line employees and all levels of management.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook proficiency is required.
WHAT (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS) WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE
- Preferably with prior knowledge of matrix reporting structures.
- Experience coming up with innovative, workable solutions to complex communication difficulties.
- Preference for strong analytical abilities.
