Position Description:

Our team is looking for a senior manager with expertise who can collaborate with marketing colleagues across American Express to help teams and generate unique, engaging, and useful content. This job will be in charge of our communications strategy as well as developing our learning and development roadmap. This position is great for someone who is enthusiastic about colleague engagement, recognizes the importance of learning, and is keen to employ marketing campaigns to keep marketers engaged about our learning culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a global strategy for expanding the reach of our learning and development programming across the enterprise by partnering with marketing colleagues and leaders in every business unit to become a brand evangelist for Amex Marketing U, the learning and development program for marketers.
  • Work with GABM and marketing colleagues to create a network of learning champions who are committed to bringing marketing learning to life for our community.
  • Develop and own our global marketing community’s end-to-end communications strategy, including oversight of the Marketer’s Angle editorial schedule, New Amex Marketer onboarding communications, and the #global-marketing-community Slack channel.
  • Collaboration with CEG to better understand New to Blue procedures and partnership prospects, as well as collaboration with leaders and operational teams across marketing functions to strengthen marketer onboarding programs.
  • Create and manage the end-to-end learning agenda for marketers, including the curriculum plan for “real-time” Amex Marketing U trainings on themes like as Brand, DEI, Insights, and other important content areas.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for gathering input on the success of our program using surveys, focus groups, and other conventional data procedures, and use that data to implement process and program improvements.
  • Collaborate with Blue Box marketing colleagues to deliver Live Learning events, such as marketer training. Return to School Week and Where to Go: 1 direct report travel management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with the ability to bring a story to life; capacity to successfully explain complicated information to a wide range of audiences
  • A desire to learn and grow, as well as to engage audiences through communication
  • Collaboration experience and the ability to manage different stakeholders across functions – managing up and down – are required. Good executive presence and ease presenting to top executives
  • Excellent project management skills and experience working on complex, fast-paced projects Working with cross-functional teams and diverse audiences
  • Good organizational abilities with the capacity to handle many activities and tight deadlines
  • Think creatively, make sound decisions, be adaptable, and be able to manage, drive, and measure change.
  • Excellent copyediting and writing abilities
  • Prior agency management and agency relationship management experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience creating learning and development content and/or building a learning strategy is preferred.
  • Prior experience leading a communications plan and/or working with internal communications is preferred.
