Design Engineer – Work From Home
Job Description
Job Type: Design Engineer from home
Location: Georgia work from home
Company: Design Engineer
Position Description:
Together with other Design Engineers and Brand Designers, you’ll create compelling web experiences for the main marketing website, blog, landing pages, microsites, manuals, and internal tools that reflect the concepts and values of the product. When both of those areas influence your unique work, you shouldn’t have to decide between “being a designer” and “being a coder.” We respect your perspective as a creative technologist leader and are aware that you have the skills necessary to deliver quality work. Your regular team members are totally distributed across the United States and Europe, so we interact openly (synchronously and async) while sharing work frequently.
What needs to be accomplished?
- Create thoughts, wireframe, gather requirements, investigate design interactions, iterate on the visual design, create, record, and perfect digital marketing touchpoints when designing and developing web experiences.
- Making careful markup (HTML, CSS) and robust modern JavaScript (React via Next.js) code to promote brand exposure, community trust and engagement, and important business metrics
- fostering an experimental attitude that uses ship-and-iterate principles to learn more, use cutting-edge technology, do A/B tests, and more
- working together to sell the greatest database platform with the executive leadership, product/engineering, and revenue teams
These qualities best sum up who you are…
- Instead of closing tickets, you place more weight on autonomy and project ownership.
- You strike a balance between objectives, from overall architecture to minute details.
- You don’t like “LGTM culture” at all.
- You are the steward of the codebase, and you have strong but unreliable opinions.
What you’ll require
- experience working on interdisciplinary design or engineering teams for at least six years
- A portfolio of work that includes UI/UX design artifacts, JavaScript and React concepts, and examples of front-end code
- Ability to manage time between several initiatives as a “self-starter” (it’s a startup, so we move quickly!)
- Excellent communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
What else will make you prosperous?
- Having experience directing and defining design engineering strategy, particularly in a specialized area like performance, animation, or accessibility
- ability to wire backend data models to the front-end interface using the full stack
- You’re the one in your department that consistently shares a link to the most recent browser devtools changelog entry, which piques my interest.
- knowledge of revenue numbers and marketing funnels
- working knowledge of remote organizations
