We are seeking a someone with exceptional design and database administration skills for the position of Database Administrator. Please be aware that this is a position for individual contributors.
You will support database design and consulting on data architecture in this position. Moving structural changes via environments is one of the primary responsibilities of this position.

You will collaborate with a group of outstanding DBAs and systems engineers on the Database Administration team of a Fortune 10 firm. This group is in charge of business-critical systems that use high availability solutions and where availability, reliability, and stability are crucial. You will contribute to making sure all solutions to application and business problems are safe, legal, and follow the minimal security baselines established by CVS Health.

You will draw on your expertise and knowledge of backup, recovery, and archiving to suggest ways to streamline the processes for logical and physical data structures. While documenting the database environment and support procedures, you will forecast long-term database administration requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research and innovation in the field of technology to create a long-term plan based on current developments in database technologies.

  • Specifying the procedure and ideal methods for controlling users, platforms, and the intake procedure.
  • Managing the database platform’s priorities, resources, and infrastructure.
  • creating processes that permit proactive infrastructure planning and expansion based on consumption and adoption.
  • defining and implementing database adoption success indicators in collaboration with IT and business owners.
  • creating content for the appropriate audience, including executives and people with different levels of technical and non-technical expertise.
  • managing problems, risks, and dependencies to meet important platform and user enablement milestones.
  • Creating a strategic roadmap, choosing a database platform using a decision tree, and publishing best practices.
  • assisting with user onboarding, training, and adoption processes and ensuring timely and suitable training.
  • cooperating and establishing contact with stakeholders in business, analytics, and IT.
  • accountable and in charge of following problem and change management processes, including escalation protocols for serious issues.
  • Giving direction and leadership to the allocated significant tasks.
  • establishing guidelines and requirements for the use of new technologies in accordance with the architectural standards established by CVS Health.

Pay Scale

The usual pay scale for this position is as follows:

  • At least 60,300
  • The most: 130,000

Knowledge You Bring:

  • Strong design and engineering expertise for both on-premises and cloud (GCP, Azure) infrastructure
  • Understanding design patterns to enable scalable solutions for business intelligence, analytics, and data management
  • comprehensive knowledge of data lifecycle management (operational databases, warehouses, integration and governance, pipelining, analytics enablement, and reporting)
  • Critical thinker with the capacity to choose technology for analytics and data engineering operations that is in line with business requirements
  • Independent, highly motivated worker who keeps an eye on business trends and best practices.

Please take note that this position is totally remote within the US and that you must be in the East or Central time zone to be eligible.

Requirements:

Required credentials

  • 5+ years of experience working in the field of information technology.
  • 5+ years of database administration expertise, including design, operational, and system-level knowledge.
  • In a very sophisticated computer environment, senior level DBA production support for three or more years.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and supporting data replication in a complicated computing environment.
  • A thorough understanding of the many options for system and application development.

Preferred Requirements

  • The capacity to function under pressure
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot production issues, shorten mean time to recovery
  • Knowledgeable about Ansible automation
  • Knowledgeable about other automation toolkits, such as Jenkins, GIT, and GITHUB.
  • To guide and mentor team members in everything Database
  • Experience leading a Healthcare/Retail company Experience with database identity access and vulnerability management Experience with application development Experience with systems analysis and application development Experience with various Database technologies, including NoSQL, Data Caching, and Graph data, to name a few.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar mix of training and experience.
