Omnicare offers a wide range of pharmacy-related services to long-term care facilities and other customers in the health care field, both directly and through its subsidiaries. Omnicare has been specializing in care for seniors for a long time, but we also serve other groups.

Overview: As part of a customer service queue, answer all phone calls from patients, customers, and those responsible. Help callers and send them to the right place. Work with residents, patients, facilities, and family members regarding charges, complaints, and collection activities. Make calls to other people as needed. Review billing statements for patients to make sure they are correct and accurate when a customer asks about them by email, phone, fax, or letter. Keep accurate and complete records of all billing and communication with patients on all accounts. Work with and partner with other departments both inside and outside the company to solve problems. Management will tell you to take part in projects and/or meetings. Follow all laws, including HIPAA, that the government has put in place. Demonstrates/models the company’s core values and customer service behaviors in interactions with all customers (internal and external) (internal and external). Follows the safety, attendance, and dress code rules of the pharmacy and department. Holidays, weekends, and/or extra hours may be required or expected. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

Average pay for this job is between $17.00 and $27.90 per hour.

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will depend on a lot of things, like where the job is.


  • 2+ years pharmacy billing experience.
  • Two or more years of customer service work in a call center or over the phone.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in an office/ business setting.
  • Experience managing prescription claims through a third party.
  • Three or more years of call center or phone-based customer service experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Know the basics of how insurance works.
  • Effective multitasking.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both in writing and in person, as well as good listening skills.
  • Can use a computer and type well enough to get by.

Education: Verifiable High School Diploma or Equivalent.
